The FMOQ Executive Committee

The Fédération’s business operations are managed by a nine-member Executive committee made up of the President, a first Vice-President, a second Vice-President, a general secretary, a treasurer and four administrators.


The role and responsibilities of the Executive Committee are to:

 

  • ensure that the goals and objectives outlined in the articles of association are pursued
  • carry out the decisions of the Council and compose, between the latter’s assemblies to which it is accountable, the Fédération’s decision-making body
  • assume the Fédération’s entire management
  • ensure that the Fédération’s management adheres to its articles of association and by-laws
  • draft every internal by-law needed to reach its goals
  • ensure the Fédération’s representation among public organizations and bodies
  • prepare, call and lead assemblies
  • ensure the training of different Council committees and see to it that they run smoothly
  • establish policies according to the needs of the community the Fédération represents and, if necessary, lead all consultations among concerned interest groups to achieve this
  • create ad hoc committees that it considers necessary or useful to achieve its goals and designate members
  • design, upon consultation with the President if possible, his/her replacement should he/she be absent or incapacitated
  • carry out all duties assigned to it by the Council while taking into account articles of association and by-laws
  • appoint the Fédération’s auditor
  • appoint the Executive Vice-Presidents and determine their powers and responsibilities
  • approve contracts of employment relative to carrying out the duties of the President and the Executive Vice-President


The members of the Executive Committee are chosen from among the General Council delegates. They are elected by the latter during the annual general assembly according to a procedure prescribed by regulation. They can be re-elected.
