Today, with a major shortage of 1,175 family doctors province-wide, close to 300 family medicine residency positions unfilled in our faculties of medicine for five years now, and more than 40% of Québecers followed by doctors over 55 years of age, it is time for the Québec government to act and take concrete steps to promoting family medicine, otherwise we will reach a point of no return. And the first step, of course, is making substantial investments in family medicine so that primary care becomes Québec’s priority. >>>
